Right where we left off in 2020 in the Shenandoah National Park!
We start our trip by flying into Charlottesville in Central Virgina (from MI and TN) and taking a shuttle to the trail head. A shuttle from a great person, Ashley. Her and her husband Scott run a great shuttle service. Thanks Ashely and Scott!
So, how does any hike start?.....that first step.......and we will take many steps thru 4 states this year!
Most all backpackers, especially long distance backpackers, are asked (and even ask themselves); "Why do you/I do it? Why do you/I LASH the AT? Well......... MacGyver and I will share our thoughts and opinions on that throughout this years Blog adventure!
Why are we long distance hiking the AT?

Hi Possum! MacGyver and I finished up on Sept.7th with 351 miles in this year. False alarm on MacGyver taking ill. He was dehydrated but recovered in about 2 days. Was great to meet you this year!
