“Only Those Who Will Risk Going Too Far Can Possibly Find Out How Far They Can Go”

-T.S. Eliot

Mile marker 843 to miles marker 900: 57 miles in 4 days. Was a good 4 days of hiking with only a few spots of rain. A few tough climbs and descents with a record 5 falls in one day! No major injuries (except my ego!). Criss-crossed the Blue Ridge Parkway and entered the Shenandoah's which was some great hiking!

I think the band "Twisted Sister" got the idea for a band name from this tree.

Amazing trail maintenance.

Not much more we can add to this profound statement.

MacGyver walking into the abyss...don't go!!!

A whole lot of mist and fog this day.

An abandoned extraterrestrial outpost?

It's not always hiking the ridges and peaks with beautiful views....many times you have to slug out the miles in the gaps and valley's.....that also have some great scenery.

????

Great view from the summit of Blackrock!

It’s always good to have Toilet-“Tree’s” when you need them :)

Last night on the trail at Loft Mtn. campground in the Shenandoah National Park. What a luxury to have a picnic table AND a bear box on site......but I still prefer wilderness camping.

MacGyver and I never got tired of the beauty we saw each and every day.

In memory of Peggy Lynn

Sadly, on the last day of our 2020 AT hike, MacGyver's Mother-in-Law passed away.......

......She was a wonderful and caring person that will sincerely be missed. And as we were walking out that last day, after some previous days of clouds and rain, we came upon this ray of light.......

....that we know Peggy and all of our loved ones that have passed were "shining down" upon MacGyver and I protecting us thru this journey......

One of our many records this year...we reached the 900 mile marker!!!

Possum

Hi Survivor,
Are you still on trail? How's McGuiver? Did he have a dance with Rona? Hope you are both doing well.

Hi Possum! MacGyver and I finished up on Sept.7th with 351 miles in this year. False alarm on MacGyver taking ill. He was dehydrated but recovered in about 2 days. Was great to meet you this year!
